TTC Wins 4 National Awards for Innovative Projects
From tutorial videos to innovative programs, the San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office (TTC) continues to implement new, creative ways to help taxpayers interact with the department.
That is why Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister is excited to announce his team was recognized with four 2016 Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo).
“We have a great group of employees that identifies new ways to improve our processes and help our customers,” said McAllister. “I want to thank the National Association of Counties for seeing the benefits our work brings to the community.” Over the past 14 years, the TTC has received 28 NACo awards. This year, the TTC won three awards in the category of “financial management”: (1) e-Check vs. Online Banking Video, (2) Quarterly MarketWatch Reports, and (3) Property Tax Bill Library Program.
The tutorial video shows taxpayers the vital difference between paying their property taxes by e-check versus paying via their online banking system, the latter of which could delay their payment and result in late penalties.
The MarketWatch Reports keeps investment pool participants and the public up-to-date on the latest trends in the financial markets, as well as the status of the Treasury’s portfolio.
The TTC’s Property Tax Bill Library Program gives staff quick and easy access to property tax information. The program greatly improves customer service in the department by helping staff quickly access documents and answer questions.
The department also received one NACo award in the category of “personnel management, employee training and benefits” for the Deferred Compensation Millennial Focus Group.
The focus group gave the deferred compensation team insight on how to better reach the County’s Millennial employees, which helped to increase the participation rate among that generation.
