Unsecured Bills

The Treasurer-Tax Collector recently began mailing the 2018 unsecured property tax bills. Unsecured taxes are value-based taxes on property that is not secured by land. Some examples of unsecured property are:

  • Boats
  • Aircraft
  • Business Fixtures
  • Business Personal Property

The delinquent date for unsecured tax bills issued between January 2018 and July 2018 is September 1, 2018. A 10% penalty will be added to all unsecured bills that are not paid by the delinquent date.  An additional 1.5% penalty will continue to be added every month thereafter until the bill is paid.

Sold the Property or Business?

Even if you have sold the property after January 1, you are still responsible for paying the unsecured tax bill for the year.
