The Treasurer-Tax Collector recently began mailing the 2017 unsecured property tax bills. Unsecured taxes are value-based taxes on property that is not secured by land. Some examples of unsecured taxes are:
- Business Fixtures
- Business Personal Property
The delinquent date for unsecured tax bills sent between January 2017 and July 2017 is September 1, 2017. A 10% penalty will be added to all bills that are not paid by the delinquent date. Another 1.5% penalty will be added every month after that until the bill is paid.
Sold the Property or Business?
Even if you have sold your property after January 1st, you are still responsible for paying the unsecured tax bill for the year.
