Last Day to Register for San Diego County’s Re-Offer Auction of 400+ Properties!
04/30/26
Bidders must register by April 30, 2026
SAN DIEGO, CA, April 30, 2026 - San Diego County Treasurer Larry Cohen, MBA, is reminding those interested in participating in the County’s 2026 online property tax re-offer auction that bidder registration must be completed by 5pm today, Thursday, April 30th, 2026. This year’s auction features more than 400 properties for sale.
“This Re-Offer Property Tax Auction is to sell those properties that have been in tax default for five or more years and that didn’t sell at the last auction. We make every effort to reach defaulted property owners so they can keep their properties, but we are mandated by the California Revenue & Taxation Code to sell properties that have been in default over five years,” said Cohen.
“This year we have hundreds of properties that might be the perfect opportunity for a hopeful buyer,” continued Cohen. “Our online system makes it simple to research and bid on a variety of properties across San Diego County.”
Anyone can bid during the re-offer tax auction from May 8-13th. To participate, bidders can get more information at Property Tax Sale, and must register before April 30th at the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s tax auction website, sdttc.mytaxsale.com. They must also submit a refundable $1,000 deposit and a non-refundable $35 processing fee (some parcels may require a larger deposit).
“Potential bidders who want to receive email reminders about deadlines are encouraged to sign up for e-notifications at sdttc.com.” All sales are final, so this is a buyer beware sale. The TTC recommends beginning the research process on its website.
